How to follow a person or shelter, request to follow a closed profile and unfollow.

Following
- Open the profile of a person, kennel or shelter.
- Tap “Follow”. If the profile is closed, the button is called “Request to add”: the owner decides whether to accept you. If a request is declined, you can send another later (the app shows the date).
- Once you are following, the button changes to “Following”. New animals from this account arrive in your notifications.
The list of people you follow: “Profile” → “Following”. The “Unfollow” button removes a subscription.
PetMate has no post feed and no comments: following exists so that you learn about new animals.
A closed profile
In “Settings”, in the “Privacy” block, you can close your profile: only people you have accepted see your pets and details. Others see your handle and avatar. If you open the profile again, all pending requests are accepted at once (settings).
