Meetings and exchanging contacts
How contacts are exchanged in PetMate and how to meet safely.
Contacts
In the chat, phone numbers and links are hidden until both sides tap “Share my contacts” (chats). After the exchange you communicate outside the service, and PetMate does not control that communication.
Address
Distance is shown rounded, and anything closer than 1 km shows as “nearby”. The service never gives anyone an exact address.
The meeting
- Choose a busy place.
- Tell your family or friends where you are going.
- Ask for the animal’s documents.
- Do not hand over copies of your passport.
- Do not send an advance payment to strangers.
Payments
PetMate does not accept money for breeding, sale or rehoming and takes no part in payments. The contract, payment and handover happen between people, outside the service. The administration is not a seller, an intermediary or a guarantor of the deal.
If the meeting went wrong
Report the person and mark the deal if needed (reporting a deal).
