How to adopt an animal from a shelter or an owner
A request to the owner, waiting for the answer and the chat. What you can and cannot do along the way.

Steps
- Open the “Looking for a new home” feed and browse the cards. The “i” button or “Details” shows health, weight and where the animal is.
- Tap the “Want to adopt” heart. The “Request for …” window opens.
- Write the owner a few words about yourself and your home. The message is optional, up to 500 characters (what to write).
- Tap “Send application”. The answer arrives in your notifications and in “Applications”, on the “Sent by me” tab.
- If the request is accepted, its status changes to “Accepted” and an “Open chat” button appears.
Rules and limits
- You can like a profile only once. You cannot like your own profiles.
- A skipped profile returns to the feed after 30 days. Liked and declined ones do not return.
- You can withdraw a request until it is answered: “Applications” → “Withdraw”. The owner will no longer see it.
- If a request is declined, you get a polite notification with a reason: “Not a good fit”, “Already found a home”, “No longer available” or “Other reason”.
Important. Rehoming is free. If you are asked to pay “for rehoming” or to make an advance payment, that is a reason to report it.
Common problems
- “Phone numbers, links and email are not allowed here.” Remove them from the message. You can exchange contacts in the chat.
- No “Want to adopt” button. Sign in (guest).
